Networking a Diocese using FirstClass

A FirstClass Communication System is the ideal way to network a Diocese together. Imagine connecting all the parish priests, all the secretaries, all the Diocesan Staff and the Bishop into one Communicating whole. Email is standard for all --- but so is persona and Diocesan Calendaring, personal and Diocesan Contacts, Diocesan Information, Parish Events, Committees, Church News, Theological Discussion, Humour, and a hoard of other Conferences and Meetings. Diocesan Staff can send Information instantly to every parish, for free. Committee Members can hold online meetings to save time and costs. Minutes can be shared with the entire diocese, if desires. Sermon Notes, Lectionnary Readings, and Letters from the Bishop (to all parishes) are normal on a Diocesan FirstClass System.

So if a priest or secretary accessed the Diocesan FirstClass System, what would it look like? Every Diocese is different, but let's look at one example of what it could be like. Below is an example of a Diocesan FirstClass Desktop that any User would see when he/she accessed the private Diocesan System "NWnet". Note the Icons giving access to the information on the FirstClass System. The top line of 5 Icons are personal --- Email, Calendar, Contacts, Memos, and Home Page (accessing the templates for the Website). The second line are General Diocesan Icons.

Though you cannot see them, there are over 100 different Conferences (Meetings) in this example. Some are hidden from view unless you are a member of that Committee. For example, the "Clergy Only Msgs" can oly be accessed by a priest or deacon, and inside are Conference for all the Deaneries, plus some Deacon Only conferences. Even the Archdeacons and Regional Deans have their own private Conference where they can discuss issues, and share concerns --- all of which is private from anyone else.

The whole of the Diocesan Desktop is private from the world --- it is not a website --- it is a private Desktop accessed by the FirstClass Client, only for users who have been given a  registered Account by the Diocese. And even then they must be given Permission to access sites that may be closed to all others. It is Open to all who have Permission, Inaccessible to everyone else in the world. FirstClass is an excellent choice for a Communication System. Fast, easy, simple, and free.
